Why Jeometry Beewear™ Was Created & What Sets Us Apart

If you ask what Jeometry Beewear™ is about, this is the answer.

Jeometry™ wasn’t created because the market needed another bee suit. It was created because women were tired of wearing something that was never designed for them in the first place.

The Moment That Sparked It All

In July 2023, at the South Carolina Beekeeping Conference, Jenna, Founder & Designer of Jeometry Beewear™, sat in the audience during a Women in Beekeeping panel.

The topic turned to bee suits, and the frustration poured out:

  • “When I bend over, everything falls out of my pockets.”

  • “The crotch is at my knees.”

  • “The suit is six sizes too big.”

  • “I don’t even know how to order the right size.”

  • “We’re swimming in them.”

In that moment, Jenna raised her hand and said, “I’ll design one.” And she meant it.

The Problem No One Was Solving

For decades, women in beekeeping have been adapting.

Adapting to:

  • Unisex sizing that isn’t actually unisex

  • Poor proportions

  • Heavy, restrictive construction

  • Rusting zippers

  • Ill-placed pockets

  • Veils that collapse forward

  • Gear that traps heat

  • Suits that feel like modified men’s coveralls

It’s the same story that even female astronauts told about their space suits: everything was built for men, and women were expected to make it work.

In beekeeping, the standard suit is essentially a man’s jumpsuit, a stiff veil, and a “good enough” mentality.

Jeometry™ exists because “good enough” just isn’t good enough.

Two Decades of Design Expertise & A Decade of Beekeeping

Jeometry™ isn’t a fashion brand trying to be a beekeeper.

It’s built at the intersection of:

  • 20 years of professional women’s apparel design

  • 10 years of hands-on beekeeping experience

  • Real frustration with existing gear

  • Direct feedback from female beekeepers

Before Jeometry Beewear™, Jenna spent two decades drafting, fitting, and sewing clothing specifically for women’s bodies. Taking measurements. Designing for curves. Understanding proportions.

She also keeps bees. That combination is rare, and it matters.

Because designing protective gear for women requires more than resizing a man’s pattern.

It requires starting from scratch.

Designed for Women. Not Downsized for Women.

Here’s what makes the Jeometry Beewear™ Sunny Suit fundamentally different:

1. True Women’s Sizing

If you wear a medium in a boutique, you wear a medium in Jeometry™.

There’s no guessing, no converting from men’s sizes, and no swimming in fabric.

The waist sits at your waist. The proportions reflect a female frame. The bust shaping is intentional. The movement is natural.

This isn’t “unisex”, it’s engineered specifically for women.

2. Thoughtful Pocket Placement

Instead of awkward chest pockets that spill when you bend, Jeometry™ features:

  • Lower leg double pockets

  • Accessible placement while kneeling

  • Secure storage that doesn’t interfere with movement

Functional, intentional, and tested in real apiaries.

3. One Clean, Secure Zip

Traditional suits often have:

  • Multiple zipper junctions

  • Velcro closures

  • Gaps at the throat

  • Metal zippers that rust

Jeometry™ redesigned the entire closure system into:

  • One continuous zipper

  • Washable construction

  • No rusting metal

  • No confusing overlap points

It’s simpler, it’s lighter, it’s safer.

4. The Halo Hood

One of the most innovative elements is the redesigned mailbox-style veil.

The Jeometry™ Halo Hood:

  • Provides structured clearance

  • Feels open and breathable

  • Folds back like a hood when not in use

  • Doesn’t collapse forward

No baseball cap under-layer, no shifting helmet, no frustration.

Just visibility and comfort.

5. Revolutionary Fabric: Feel the Breeze, Not the Bees

Jeometry™ uses a three-layer honeycomb spacer mesh made from 100% recycled PET.

Imagine:

  • Mosquito netting.

  • A lightweight internal spacer.

  • Mosquito netting again.

All integrated into one breathable structure.

The result:

  • Airflow you can actually feel

  • Sting protection without bulk

  • Under 2 pounds total weight

  • Fully machine washable

  • Eco-conscious material

That difference is everything. You can feel the breeze, not the bees.

Built Responsibly in the United States

Jeometry™ is committed to:

  • U.S. manufacturing

  • Ethical production

  • Eco-conscious materials

  • Small-batch, intentional growth

Sunny Suits are manufactured in North Carolina, with earlier pieces sewn in-house in South Carolina.

These aren’t mass-produced overseas, they’re carefully engineered protective equipment made with integrity.

Real Field Testing

The Sunny Suit wasn’t sketched once and sent to a factory.

It evolved through:

  • 10-12 prototypes

  • Real apiary wear testing

  • Iteration after iteration

  • Hands-on refinement

Every adjustment was made while actually keeping bees because this wasn’t designed in theory, it was designed in practice.

Why This Matters

Beekeeping is demanding. It’s hot, physical, requires focus, and you’re working with stinging insects.

The last thing you should be thinking about is:

  • Pulling your suit up

  • Adjusting your veil

  • Fighting your zipper

  • Overheating

  • Swimming in excess fabric

When your gear fits beautifully, you move differently, you work differently, you show up differently.

Jeometry™ isn’t just a bee suit.

It’s confidence, safety, performance, and respect for women in the field.

This is Only the Beginning

The suit is just the start.

Jeometry™ has visions of expanding into:

  • Bee blouses (pullover veil tops)

  • Separate jackets and pants

  • Modular options

  • Eventually, designs for men

But the foundation remains the same: design smarter, protect better, and fit women first.

Why Women Are Choosing Jeometry™

Because once you try something actually made for you, you don’t go back.

If you’ve ever:

  • Felt swallowed by your bee suit

  • Struggled with sizing

  • Overheated in heavy gear

  • Thought, “There has to be something better…”

There is, and it’s here.
