You see the pretty suit, but have you ever wondered what it takes to bring it to life?
Jeometry Beewear™ started with an idea: beekeeping gear designed with women beekeepers in mind. But turning that idea into something you can wear in the apiary takes more than just a thoughtful design. It takes the right materials, careful craftsmanship, a dedicated manufacturing team, and plenty of hands-on work along the way.
As a small business founded by beekeeper and designer Jenna York, Jeometry Beewear™ takes a personal approach to creating gear for women in beekeeping. From Jenna’s original designs to production with a small manufacturing team in North Carolina, each step is part of a process built around purpose, comfort, and care.
Here’s a little look behind the scenes at how our Sunny Suits and Jackets make their way from fabric to finished product.
Step 1: It Starts With a Design and the Right Materials
Before a Sunny Suit ever reaches the manufacturing floor, there’s a design behind it. Jenna created Jeometry Beewear™ to address a challenge she saw firsthand in the beekeeping community: women needed protective gear designed with their bodies and the realities of working in an apiary in mind.
That means thinking beyond appearance. Fit, breathability, mobility, pockets, and practical details all play a role in creating a suit that supports the person wearing it.
Once the design and materials are ready, the production process begins. The fabric is loaded up and transported (by Jenna!) to our small manufacturing team in North Carolina, where the next stage of the journey takes place.
Step 2: The Fabric Is Carefully Cut
At the manufacturing facility, the fabric begins its transformation into a Sunny Suit and Jacket.
Before anything can be sewn together, the material must be cut into the pieces that will eventually form the finished garment. Each piece has a purpose, and the cutting stage sets the foundation for everything that follows.
It’s one of those steps that might not get much attention when you’re wearing the finished suit, but it’s an essential part of bringing the design to life.
Step 3: Skilled Hands Bring the Design to Life
Next comes the sewing. Working from Jenna’s design, the manufacturing team assembles the individual pieces into the finished suit. The fabric takes shape, the components come together, and the details that make the Sunny Suit and Jacket recognizable begin to emerge.
Jeometry Beewear™ works with a small manufacturing team in North Carolina rather than treating production as an anonymous, large-scale process. That partnership is an important part of our brand’s story. Jenna brings the vision and understanding of what women beekeepers need, while the team brings the craftsmanship that turns that vision into full gear.
It takes teamwork to make the finished product possible.
Step 4: 200 Sunny Suits Make Their Way Home
When production is complete, the suits make their way back to Jenna (she picks them up herself!).
Recently, that meant welcoming a new batch of 200 Sunny Suits. Seeing an entire batch together is a special milestone for a small business. Each suit represents the many steps, decisions, and people involved in getting it ready for the apiary.
And while 200 suits might look like a lot all in one place, each one is still part of a much more personal process: a design created to serve a community of women who deserve better-fitting, thoughtfully designed beekeeping gear.
Step 5: Each Order Gets Ready for Its Next Adventure
The final step happens back in Jenna’s garage.
Finished suits are prepared, boxed, and readied for shipping. From there, they head to beekeepers who will wear them while tending their hives, checking on their colonies, and spending time doing the work they love.
This is where the entire process comes together. The design, materials, manufacturing, and packing all lead to the same goal: getting thoughtfully designed gear into the hands of the people it was made for.
And for a small business, there’s something especially meaningful about knowing where a product comes from and seeing it head out into the world.
More Than a Suit
At Jeometry Beewear™, we believe the story behind a product matters.
Our Sunny Suit and Jacket began with Jenna’s experience as a beekeeper and her background in design. It continues through our partnership with a small manufacturing team in North Carolina and ends with the women who bring Jeometry Beekeepers™ into their own beekeeping journeys.
We’re proud to create gear designed by a woman beekeeper, for women beekeepers, and to work with people who help bring that vision to life.
When you choose Jeometry Beewear™, you’re supporting a small business with a big purpose: making beekeeping gear that considers the women wearing it, from the first design decisions to the finished suit. And we’re just getting started!
